Dating stages intimacy
blog, we focused on what a man needs to know in order to develop emotional intimacy with his woman.
Now we’ll spend time on the primary challenge of this stage of dating for women. The more intimate a man becomes with a woman, the more he will sometimes feel a need to get some distance.
The idea in all of that was not to establish a level of emotional (or certainly physical) intimacy that would imply marriage (defrauding one another), and result in a emotional divorce if things don't work out.
Our goal in dating as Christians is to save marital levels of interaction for marriage itself; to care well for the other person's soul, to be different from the world and so to bring glory to God.
We can encourage it, though, by creating conditions from which it can develop.
Being alert, we will recognize situations where achieving emotional intimacy is more likely than in other circumstances.
The process of dating works so much better when there are clear guidelines to follow.
Whether you are new to the dating scene or returning to it, think about the kind of relationship that you are seeking and go after that person who who is looking for that same.
A man’s tendency to pull away is most extreme when he experiences intimacy before he is ready.
When a man pulls away, it’s important that a woman doesn’t panic.
Avoid pursuing him or trying to convince him to return.
In the design of a relationship that we're carving out here, caring well for one another means we can't place too high a premium on being clear. In fact, many women tell me they deeply appreciate such clarity.
Guys, again the brunt of the work falls to you here. Let me also reiterate that, like asking someone to date initially, It's just a marker to say things are going well, and as far as you're concerned, the game is changing.
